THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TOUR
01. CUSTOM'S BUILDING
We start the tour by the Customs Office, which soon gives us the idea about the wealth of Buenos Aires by the XX eth century and the importance of its port activity. Very close to it, another imposing building, the Ministry of Defense.
02. OLD DOCKS
The Western area still keeps the typical constructions from the old port. The developments see the original English-styled esthetic kept on the outside. At the same time, on the inside, the harbour offices, companies, restaurants and bars were converted into a very famous gastronomic pole.
03. SARMIENTO FRIGATE
Beautifying a little bit more the ride, we find a vessel, which has served as a training ship for the Argentinian Navy for several decades, treasuring inside a valuable collection of objects accrued from the different countries it has sailed by its several trips.
04. WOMAN'S BRIDGE
This moving bridge, made by the Spanish Calatrava, is considered the heart of Puerto Madero nowadays. Inspired by the shape of a couple of tango dancers, it joins the old and the new areas.
05. MODERN AREA
Once on the Eastern side, we find the new zone, where still today we can find new buildings under construction in a piece of land which used to be covered by the river. Bars, galleries, broad pedestrian areas and lovely views invite us to the 'dolce far niente'.
